Application Security Specialist

Are you passionate about application security and eager to drive security awareness and best practices across development teams? We are seeking an experienced and motivated Application Security Specialist to join our Cybersecurity team. The position is permanent and full-time.

In this role, you will take a proactive position in strengthening our organization's security practices. You will work closely with development teams and projects, providing expert guidance on security-related matters. A key part of your role will be leading our Security Champion Training and Coaching Program, through which you will empower development teams with the knowledge, tools, and mindset to integrate security into their workflows. Your ability to influence, train, and mentor others will be crucial in shaping and aligning secure development practices across the organization.

Key Responsibilities

• Continuously develop and refine security practices and processes to support secure development.
• Provide expert guidance and hands-on support to development teams on security-related challenges.
• Lead the Security Champion Training and Coaching Program, ensuring effective knowledge-sharing and engagement.
• Design, develop, and deliver engaging security training sessions tailored to development teams.
• Assist projects and initiatives with cybersecurity-related activities, ensuring security is embedded from the start.
  
  

What We’re Looking For

• Strong background in cybersecurity with proven experience in delivering security training and coaching.
• Ability to work collaboratively and influence development teams, security champions, and stakeholders.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to translate security concepts into actionable insights.
• Experience in conducting threat modelling and driving secure development practices.
• Hands-on experience in professional application development, enabling you to understand and address security concerns effectively.
• Ability to work in English and preferably in Finnish as well.
  
  

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with security frameworks and standards (e.g., OWASP, NIST, ISO 27001).
• Familiarity with cloud security best practices and technologies.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and mitigate risks effectively.
• Experience in mentoring and coaching technical teams on security practices.
