What You’ll Do

The Head of Finance Operations will implement the vision and strategy for Finance Services within the market, leading, directing, and developing the finance team. This role involves managing end-to-end finance service delivery, ensuring compliance with Vodafone policies, and partnering with business units and finance organizations to drive financial performance and transformation.

Vision and Strategy Implementation: Lead the development and execution of finance services strategy within the market, overseeing strategic initiatives to drive financial performance.

Service Delivery Management: Oversee end-to-end finance service delivery, ensuring alignment with agreed SLAs/KPIs and maintaining high standards of service delivery.

Compliance: Ensure adherence to Vodafone policies, IFRS, operational controls, and SOX (if applicable) impacting regulatory compliance.

Business Partnering: Collaborate with LM Business Units, Finance Function, Finance Service Lines and Local Chief Accountants (LCS) to drive discussions and provide a single point of contact for all Stakeholders, to ensure financial statements are accurate and reflective of business activities. This includes overseeing cash flow and ensuring alignment with business development.

Local R2R Management: Handle non-transactional finance topics such as APA steering and CF steering, impacting financial outcomes.

In-depth Understanding: The role requires an intimate understanding of the local market's business model and its translation into financial statements, ensuring that the financial outcomes align with the business plan and commercial strategies

Demand Coordination: Coordinate new local demand with service lines, ensuring effective communication and collaboration.

Cross-Service Line Coordination: Manage activities across service lines to ensure effective service performance.

Local Activities Management: Oversee preparation of statutory accounts, regulatory reporting, and other local finance activities, ensuring financial reporting accuracy.

Finance Transformation: Implement finance transformation and digital strategy, ensuring partner/client satisfaction, drive innovation and provide better financial insights to support strategic decision-making by ensuring that financial statements accurately reflect business activities and plans.

Continuous Improvement: Drive continuous improvement and service delivery in line with world-class benchmarks, achieving efficiency gains and cost savings.

Stakeholder Engagement: Develop strategic and operational relationships with key local market stakeholders (CEO, FD, CCO, CBO).

Collaboration: Enhance cross-market and finance service lines collaboration to leverage regional and global best practices

Team Leadership and Development: Build and lead a high-performing finance team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement, accountability, and professional growth.

Strong management, prioritisation, and organizational skill

Education: Bachelor’s degree in accounting, economics or business with a deep understanding of financial management principles

Master’s degree is an asset

Experience: At least 5 years in a senior finance role, preferably within the telecommunications sector or a similar multinational environment

Expertise: Knowledge in taxation, accounting (IFRS), financial systems, and human resource management

Industry Knowledge: Comprehensive understanding of the telecommunications market dynamics and Vodafone’s business operations

Experience in finance transformation and digital strategy implementation
