Backend TypeScript Engineer

We are seeking a TypeScript Engineer to join the Backend Team.

We're looking for a self-motivated engineer who can independently drive work from start to finish. They will be given clear goals and expected to take ownership of breaking them down into deliverable tasks, navigating systems and collaborating across teams to get the work done effectively.

Location & Collaboration

The team is primarily based in New York and the UK, so we ask that the working hours overlap with the U.S. Eastern Time Zone until at least 2:00 PM EST.

Responsibilities:

• Design, build, and maintain backend services supporting audio content delivery and features, publishing, and creation.
• Own projects end-to-end, from planning through deployment and support.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with product, design, and other engineering teams.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues in production as part of a low-frequency on-call rotation.

Qualifications:

• Proficiency in TypeScript, Node.js, and GraphQL.
• Ability to work independently with minimal guidance.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills in a remote and distributed team environment.
• Experience with AWS or other cloud infrastructure platforms is a plus.
• DevOps, Terraform, or systems reliability experience is a bonus.
