Our products power hundreds of digital sites and print publications, and are used daily by thousands of editorial staff. About the Team: DrEdition

The DrEdition platform automates editorial workflows and makes browser-based print production a reality. Yes, print is still alive and well, and still represents over 50% of revenue for many media companies. This is a core product at Aptoma, and you’ll work on technology that has real impact for newsrooms across the Nordics.

Why This Role Matters

We're looking for a Back-end Developer who enjoys having end-to-end ownership, and who wants to work in a lean, experienced, and low-bureaucracy environment. This role has a strong back-end focus, and we’re particularly looking for someone who is comfortable working in a JavaScript/Node.js/AWS-heavy environment. You should have a strong track record working with cloud infrastructure and APIs, and ideally be able to contribute across the stack when needed.

What You’ll Work On

• Writing and maintaining Node.js applications (including headless browser control)
• Creating serverless functions or Docker microservices
• Managing infrastructure on AWS
• Improving and evolving our React-based frontend
• Solving real problems for editorial teams that rely on our platform every day

What We’re Looking For

• Back-end: Strong experience with JavaScript, Node.js
• Infrastructure: Solid understanding of AWS and general cloud operations
• Front-end: Proficiency in JavaScript
• Approach: Ownership mentality, pragmatic, and quality-focused

Our preferred stack: Node.js, JavaScript, React, MongoDB, MySQL, AWS

The Team Setup

Aptoma consists of 17 software developers.

The team is split across three locations:

• Oslo: Main office with the majority of the team
• Gothenburg: 5–6 developers in a shared office
• Stockholm: 2 developers working from a co-working space (mostly remote, meet weekly)

We also host regular team gatherings and an annual company summit (last one was in Nice 🏖️).
