Job Description
- Contribute to the design, implementation, and ongoing management of Forcepoint’s global enterprise network.
- Configure, operate, and automate cloud IaaS networks such as AWS, Azure, GCP, and others.
- Design, implement, and maintain robust systems such as monitoring, analysis, management, and alerting tools to optimize network performance
- Identify manual routine operational practices and build robust automation capabilities using code and modern tools.
- Work closely with information security to integrate security enhancements and continuously enhance the security posture.
- Participate in On-Call rotations and serve as an escalation point for production operation issues.
Requirements
- Strong understanding of Networking concepts and theories, such as different protocols (TCP/IP, UDP, routing protocols, etc.), VLAN configuration, DNS, OSI layers, and load balancing
- Deep understanding of how applications, databases, and technology platforms integrate and communicate to form fully functional solutions to business problems.
- In-depth experience with Juniper QFX and MX platforms
- Hands-on experience in configuring and managing load balancers, including traffic management and optimization.
- Strong understanding of network monitoring techniques including SNMP, Flow Monitoring, Telemetry, and Syslog
- Experience with designing, deploying, and operating office wireless deployments (Aruba, Mist, Cisco)
- Understanding of network firewalls, IPSEC/GRE tunnels, VPN services
- Strong understanding of BGP routing. Manipulating BGP attributes to alter routing.
- Understanding of network security best practices and how to properly deploy them.
- Ability and willingness to coach and mentor Team members and colleagues
- Experience with network automation tooling (e.g. Ansible and Terraform)
- Familiarity with network monitoring and troubleshooting tools such as Wireshark, SolarWinds, or Splunk.
Nice to have
- Familiarity of Linux systems
- Familiarity with physical and virtual servers (e.g. VMWare)
- Familiarity with Storage Solutions
- Familiarity with Microsoft-centric infrastructure (Active Directory, Azure AD, Windows Servers)
Education
- University degree and 5-7 years of related experience or equivalent work experience in a Network Engineer role.
- Professional Level certifications (CCNP, JNCIP, AWS DevOps Engineer / Advanced Networking, etc.)
