Role-DevOps Engineer / Site Reliability Engineer (SRE)

Experience in designing, hosting, and managing apps in Customer / Banking using

• VMWare Cloud Foundation
• RHEL
• Windows Server
• Build CI/CD to manage both Infra and App changes
• Monitoring with integration to Splunk/Dynatrace etc

DevOps Engineer / Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) with expertise in VMware, Linux, and Windows Server to design, host, and manage critical systems.

Key Responsibilities

1. Platform Hosting & Management:

· Configure, manage, and optimize systems hosted on VMware Cloud Foundation.

1. Infrastructure & Application CI/CD:

· Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines for managing both infrastructure and application changes.

· Automate deployments to ensure seamless updates and reliable systems operation.

1. Monitoring & Performance Optimization:

· Integrate monitoring solutions using Splunk, Dynatrace, or equivalent tools for performance tracking and incident management.

· Proactively identify and resolve infrastructure and application issues to maintain uptime and reliability.

1. Collaboration & Process Improvement:

· Work closely with cross-functional teams to implement best practices in DevOps and site reliability engineering.

· Continuously improve deployment processes and ensure adherence to security and compliance standards.

Required Skills and Experience

· VMware Cloud Foundation: Proficient in deploying and managing virtualized environments.

· Linux Administration (RHEL): Strong expertise in managing and troubleshooting Red Hat Enterprise Linux systems.

· Windows Server Administration: Experience in deploying and managing enterprise-grade Windows Server environments.

· CI/CD: Hands-on experience with CI/CD tools like Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or similar.

· Monitoring Tools: Proven experience with Splunk, Dynatrace, or other monitoring and observability platforms.

· Kafka: Understanding of Kafka and its role in streaming data architecture.

· Automation & Scripting: Proficiency in scripting (e.g., Bash, Python, PowerShell) to automate routine tasks.

Senior DevOps Engineer / Site Reliability Engineer (SRE)

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• ITIL Foundation level certificatio
• Experience in operations roles supporting highly available & high demand customer facing systems & products.
• Experience working in an IT operations team of a large complex organization such as a Tier 1 Telco or Bank.
• Deep knowledge and hands on experience of working in a 24 X 7 operations environment supporting mission critical systems for external customers
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across teams.
• Previous experience as a Site Reliability Engineer or in environment that has adopted SRE principles & practices.
• Experience with cloud-based infrastructure, such as AWS or Azure, and container technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
• Knowledge of networking and network security, including DNS, TCP/IP, firewalls, and load balancers.
• Experience with automation and configuration management tools such as Ansible, Terraform, or Chef.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills demonstrated in incident management and troubleshooting production issues.
• Strong programming skills in one or more scripting languages such as Python, Bash or Powershell.
• Demonstrated experience java development and building Ops monitoring tools.
• CI/CD Pipeline Fundamentals;
• Experience designing, debugging, and running fault tolerant large-scale distributed systems
• Experience in a BSS (Billing and Customer Care Platforms. Understanding of the fulfilment environment, specifically in relation to Service Order Management, Service Inventory, Service Activation)
• Amdocs & CES product suit experience will be highly regarded
• Knowledge and understanding of various security protocols
• SSL handshakes and certificate setup for 2 ways SSL. Good understanding of cyber and system integration security
• Demonstrated experience with software repositories such as GIT & Bitbucket
• Experience with monitoring tools such as ELK, SPLUNK, Dynatrace, Nagios.
• Demonstrated experience with relational database such as Mysql , Oracle, Postgres
• Involvement in build and release management processes and CI/CD tools.
• Openshift CiICD pipeline (Jenkins/Tektons)
• Demonstrated experience in Linux system administration, HA Proxy, apache, WebLogic, tomcat and Jboss.
• Demonstrated experience with automation tools Puppet Enterprise, Docker, Ansible
• A good knowledge of encryption technologies such as SSL. Firewalls and networking in a large complex enterprise environment.
