Freelance Security Architect

We are seeking a highly experienced and visionary Security Architect to play a key role in shaping and executing our organization’s security architecture. The ideal candidate brings strong conceptual architecture skills, deep security project experience, and a collaborative Agile mindset. You will help define and implement architecture strategies, guide development practices, and act as a subject matter expert on information security across the enterprise.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and implement enterprise-wide information security architectures.
• Contribute as a senior team member in multidisciplinary security projects.
• Define and maintain conceptual and logical security architecture models.
• Translate business needs into secure, scalable, and maintainable architectural solutions.
• Develop and execute long-term security architecture strategies aligned with business goals.
• Support agile development teams by embedding security principles into Agile/DevSecOps workflows.
• Guide and promote best practices in data modeling and secure development methodologies.
• Collaborate closely with IT, enterprise architecture, risk management, and compliance teams.

Required Qualifications & Experience:

• Proven experience as Security Architect role or comparable senior security architecture position.
• Demonstrated track record of contributing to or leading security-focused projects.
• Strong conceptual architectural design skills with the ability to articulate complex ideas clearly.
• Familiarity and hands-on experience with Agile methodologies and an Agile mindset.
• Experience using data modeling and software development methodologies.
• Deep understanding of architecture strategy development and implementation.
• Ability to communicate complex security concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Fluent in Dutch (CEFR Level C2) – both written and spoken.

Preferred Certifications:

• TOGAF, SABSA, or other architectural frameworks
• CISSP, CISM, or equivalent security certifications
