System Network Engineer (Mid-Senior/Senior)

About the Role

Are you passionate about building and securing reliable IT systems? Do you love optimizing networks and keeping things running smoothly behind the scenes? We're looking for a System Network Engineer to join the IT team and play a key role in delivering top-notch infrastructure services for our customer, a leading health insurance provider.

In this role, you’ll be our go-to expert for network and system-related matters — ensuring everything runs like clockwork, while also pushing for continuous improvement and helping implement critical security solutions like PAM and IDM. You'll work on exciting projects, support production releases, and collaborate closely with our IT Ops and development teams.

What You’ll Be Doing

🔧 Infrastructure & Service Management

• Be the first line of support for system and network issues.
• Manage, monitor, and optimize our system and network infrastructure.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical challenges — fast.
• Ensure business continuity and system uptime (DRP included).

🔐 Security & Access

• Take the lead in onboarding applications to PAM and IDM platforms.
• Implement access segregation, session monitoring, and privileged account controls.
• Support audits and proactively improve our security posture.

🚀 Projects & Innovation

• Participate in infrastructure upgrades, migrations, and implementations.
• Collaborate on new projects and introduce improvements to existing systems.
• Automate where it makes sense — streamline wherever possible.

📄 Documentation & Knowledge Sharing

• Keep infrastructure documentation up to date and accurate.
• Work closely with the system architect to detail configurations, IP plans, and more.
• Be the escalation point for the Service Desk on advanced issues.

What You’ll Bring

Hard Skills

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science (or equivalent experience).
• 5+ years of experience in IT system and network engineering.
• Solid expertise in:
• Windows & Linux environments
• Active Directory & Group Management
• PowerShell, Bash, or Python scripting
• PAM Tools (onboarding, session monitoring, vaulting)
• IDM Solutions & AD integration
• SQL, and AS400 familiarity is a bonus

Languages

• Fluent in Dutch or French
• Proficient in English
