Senior Scala Developer with Akka

📍Location: remote from Europe

By joining our team, you’ll become part of a project developing software for the energy and water industries. They specialize in solutions that support data management, smart metering, and network optimization. The client’s platforms help companies manage resources more efficiently and achieve environmental goals.

We’re looking for engineers who combine deep technical skills in Scala, Java, and Akka with strong collaborative instincts, adaptability, and a pragmatic approach to problem-solving. You should be comfortable working closely with peers in a fast-moving environment, be process- and documentation-oriented, and have a bias towards action and results.

Must-haves In The Technology Stack

• At least 5 years of experience in Scala (Scala 3 preferred)
• Java
• Akka
  
  

Proven experience building production systems with Scala (ideally Scala 3) and Akka, including designing and implementing distributed or concurrent applications.

For this position, you'll also need to have solid experience with:

• Data Engineering:
  
  

Familiarity with data processing, SQL and NoSQL database.

• Linux Fundamentals:
  
  

Comfortable navigating and troubleshooting on Linux systems, including scripting and basic system administration.

• Monitoring and Observability:
  
  

Practical experience with tools for metrics, logging, and tracing (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, OpenSearch/ELK, OpenTelemetry).
