Role? Senior UX designer

Location? Lysaker outside Oslo, Norway.

About the role

As part of Statkraft's Front-end Enablement team within IT Development, you’ll collaborate closely with fellow designers and developers to create professional user experiences for Statkraft’s expert users across our operations in Norway and Europe. You'll work alongside business users, and contribute to diverse analysis, from hydrology to power markets and preventive maintenance, all while supporting users to accelerate their vital work.



About the team

Our cross-functional Front-end team consists of six UX designers and eight frontend developers. We work across Statkraft’s software teams at Lysaker and meet weekly to focus on our design system. Our sharing culture keeps each other updated on our work. Our exchange of ideas creates a supportive environment where learning and teamwork thrive. When you face a challenging problem, there’s always someone to lend a hand.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead the design and redesign of new applications and functionalities from scratch.
  • Perform user research, facilitate testing, and iterate on wireframes and prototypes, following the Statkraft Design System.
  • Collaborate with developers to ensure the feasibility and smooth implementation of designs.
  • Continuously contribute to updating and refining the Design System to meet evolving user needs, branding, and design trends.
  • Ensure quality through reviews and feedback loops.
  • Strive to make applications as consistent, intuitive, and user-friendly as possible.
  • Help the other UX/UI designers grow, promoting a collaborative and innovative design culture.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Interaction design or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience as a UX Designer.
  • Proficiency in Figma, our primary design tool.
  • Experience working within Agile frameworks (Scrum/Kanban).
  • Excellent communication skills in both English and Norwegian.
  • Extensive experience working directly with clients.

Nice to have:

  • Knowledge of design systems, including their implementation and evolution.
  • Experience with Angular or React development.
  • Previous experience in the Energy industry.
  • Familiarity with time series, process design, and data-driven approaches.
  • Background in graphical design (education or experience).
  • Experience working in multicultural teams.
