Hudson Gate Partners is looking for a Java Software Engineer for one of our partners, a multi-strategy investment firm headquartered in NYC. They are growing rapidly, and need another person on their centralized Data Imports team to independently drive projects around infrastructure and data platforms. They are also in the middle of a large data architecture overhaul to more modern open source platforms (Apache, Spark, Trino) that this developer would help with.
Responsibilities:
- Manage and enhance system infrastructure.
- Develop and maintain system monitoring tools.
- Build and optimize data import pipelines.
- Work on proprietary time-series data platform.
- Develop and support user-facing Python APIs.
- Handle FINRA-CAT reporting requirements.
- Develop and maintain volatility trading tools.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure system efficiency and effectiveness.
- Troubleshoot and resolve system and application issues.
- Document technical processes and system configurations.
Qualifications:
- 4+ years of work experience coding in Java or C/C++ or C#.
- Strong understanding of data structures and algorithms.
- Ability to take ownership, stay organized, communicate and be productive (very important due our size and responsibilities).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Experience in developing financial applications is a strong plus, but not required.
- Multi-asset experience is a plus, but not required.
