We are seeking a skilled and proactive Cloud Engineer with deep expertise in OpenStack and Linux systems administration** to join our infrastructure team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing, supporting, and optimizing our cloud infrastructure, providing L2 support for OpenStack environments, and administering key backend systems that support our cloud operations.
Key Responsibilities: Provide Level 2 support for OpenStack environments, including compute, storage, and networking components. Perform Linux server administration and troubleshooting across a variety of distributions (e.g., CentOS, RHEL, Ubuntu). Manage and maintain critical infrastructure services including: DNS (Bind/Infoblox or equivalent) KVM virtualization NTP time synchronization servers SAN storage systems and SAN switch configurations Physical server deployments and hardware troubleshooting Backup systems using Commvault or equivalent enterprise backup tools Collaborate with other teams to ensure smooth deployment, configuration, and operation of cloud services. Monitor infrastructure health and performance, proactively identifying and resolving issues. Implement and follow change management and incident response procedures. Assist in developing automation scripts and tools to improve operational efficiency. Document standard operating procedures, configurations, and system architecture.
Requirements: Technical Skills: Strong experience with OpenStack (Nova, Neutron, Cinder, Keystone, Glance, etc.) Expert-level Linux skills (troubleshooting, systemd, kernel, storage, networking) Hands-on experience with KVM virtualization and libvirt Proficient in managing DNS, DHCP, and NTP Experience configuring and supporting SAN storage** and **Fibre Channel switches Knowledge of physical server hardware (Dell, HP, Supermicro, etc.) * Familiarity with Commvault or similar backup platforms * Understanding of cloud networking concepts (SDN, VXLAN, BGP, VLANs) Experience with tools like Ansible, Terraform, or shell scripting is a plus Soft Skills: Analytical thinker and problem-solver with attention to detail Ability to work independently and handle critical issues under pressure Strong communication and collaboration skills Passion for learning and adapting to new technologies Preferred Qualifications: * Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field * OpenStack certifications (e.g., COA, Certified OpenStack Administrator) are a plus * Experience in enterprise IT environments with high availability and uptime requirements
