Dojo from the get-go

First launch was back in 2009. So, with over 15 years in the payments industry, we’ve got a story to tell.

Dojo is built to soothe customer and consumer pain points across the world for over 140,000 customers.

And today, there’s over 1000 of us in multiple locations across the UK, Ireland, Spain, and Italy.

Our mission is to empower businesses to thrive in the experience economy by creating the tools and tech that turn transactions into meaningful relationships.

We do that through sophisticated EPOS payments integrations, fast transactions, hospitality bookings, and a strong consumer restaurant app.

Welcome to Horizon – The Future of Engineering at Dojo

Horizon Engineering is the home of ambitious problem solvers who want to use AI to make real change happen. We’ve created this team for graduate engineers who are curious, driven, and ready to move fast. It’s for those who want to build AI-led solutions that help Dojo scale smarter, not just bigger.

You’ll be part of a small, focused group solving strategic problems across the business—using AI to drive automation, efficiency, and innovation. You’ll be trusted to take ownership early and supported by senior engineers and mentors from day one.

We’re doing this in partnership with Google, giving you access to cutting-edge tools and infrastructure to work on projects that matter.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Tackle Strategic Problem Statements Work on real business challenges—like improving operations through intelligent automation or using machine learning to speed up decision-making.
  • Build AI-Enabled Tools Design and implement solutions using AI and ML models, large language models, or data science pipelines that have measurable impact.
  • Think Like a Founder, Deliver Like an Engineer This isn’t a rotation program. You’ll join a team where you’re expected to ship code, contribute ideas, and own outcomes.
  • Partner with Google You’ll benefit from our strategic partnership with Google Cloud, helping you work with modern tech stacks and access exclusive tooling and learning opportunities.

Who We’re Looking For

  • Strong Technical Foundations You’re studying Computer Science (or a closely related subject) and have a solid understanding of programming, systems, and problem-solving.
  • 140 UCAS Tariff Points (or equivalent) We expect a strong academic background. You’ll likely have achieved at least 140 UCAS points. We also welcome applicants with alternative qualifications if you can show us your ability through your technical work.
  • Curious About AI And Machine Learning You don’t need to be an AI expert yet—but you’re eager to learn, experiment, and apply the latest developments to real-world problems.
  • Creative Problem Solver You enjoy exploring different approaches and thinking critically about how to build better systems.
  • Proactive and Self-Directed You take ownership, challenge assumptions, and look for ways to make things better—not just follow instructions.
  • Excited by Impact You want to be part of something with purpose—where your work drives real outcomes for teams and customers.

Why Horizon @ Dojo?

  • A Workspace Built for Builders Our Paddington HQ is designed for collaboration, creativity, and focus—with a coffee bar, snacks, and dedicated spaces for engineering deep work.
  • Learn from the Best Work alongside experienced engineers, mentors, and product thinkers. Get feedback that helps you grow fast.
  • Work with Google, Move at Startup Speed Access Google Cloud tools and insights while building in a fast-moving, entrepreneurial team that values experimentation.
  • Permanent Role with Purpose This isn’t a short-term scheme - it’s the start of a long-term career where you’ll contribute meaningfully from day one.

Dojo home and away

We believe our best work happens when we collaborate in-person. These “together days” foster communication, drive innovation and spark our brightest ideas.

That's why we have an office-first culture. This means working from the office 4+ days per week.

With offices across Europe, we know a thing or two about staying dynamic. Need deep focus? Head to a quiet zone. Big ideas? Collaboration spaces have you covered. Just here for a catch-up? Our social hubs make it easy. Do work that counts, in spaces made for you.

Diversity, equity, and inclusion at Dojo

From local bakeries to well-known eateries, Dojo payments serve over 140,000 places across the UK.

And something that’s fundamental to creating relevant, innovative products at Dojo is to build teams to reflect the diversity of the businesses we serve.

Our drive to improve diversity, equity, and inclusion is closely linked to helping employees thrive and innovating for better customer experiences.

If you care about your work, you’re curious, and you think customer-first, you have a place at Dojo.

To make sure you’re the best you can be throughout the recruitment process, let us know if you need any extra adjustments to help you thrive.
