Python Data Engineer

We are currently looking on behalf of one of our important clients for a Python Data Engineer. This is a fixed-term position with an initial employment contract limited to 2 years with the possibility of extension. The role is based in Aargau Canton & comes with some home office allowance.

Your role:

• Build smart data systems including the design of scalable infrastructure for managing real-time data.
• Integrate instruments & sensors & develop robust pipelines for logging & backing up sensor & instrument data.
• Visualize data in real time & create associated dashboards & tools.
• Support research workflows & ensure data quality & documentation.

Your Skills & Experience:

• At least 2 years of professional experience in Data Engineering including some experience in Programming Data Systems.
• Strong expertise in Python & experience in Data Streaming & Time-Series Databases (e.g., InfluxDB).
• Experienced in Data Visualization (e.g., Grafana); Version Control (Git) & clear & collaborative Code Practices.
• Accustomed to R&D Environments & familiar with Scientific Instruments, Sensors & Hardware Communication Protocols.
• Ideally experienced in Automation Systems, Electronic Lab Notebooks (ELNs) or Logging Systems.
• Any experience in SQL & C/C++ is considered advantageous.

Your Profile:

• Completed Master’s Degree in the Computer Science, Data Engineering or Similar.
• Fluent in English (spoken & written). German language skills are considered a plus.
