WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING
In this role, you’ll work across the full lifecycle of advanced machine learning systems:
- Model Development – Design and train high-performance models including LLMs and transformer-based NLP tools.
- Edge Deployment – Optimize and deploy models to run on edge platforms (e.g., Jetson), focusing on real-time performance.
- AI/Robotics Integration – Collaborate closely with robotics engineers to embed intelligent behaviour into autonomous platforms.
- End-to-End ML Ownership – Lead the full pipeline from research to deployment, ensuring reliability and scalability.
REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
- Degree-qualified in Computer Science, ML/AI, Robotics, or similar
- 4+ years working on machine learning projects, including:
- Training of LLMs or transformer-based NLP systems
- Edge AI deployment (Jetson or equivalent)
- Model integration with embedded platforms
- Advanced Python skills, with experience in frameworks like TensorFlow or PyTorch
- Strong grasp of neural nets, attention mechanisms, and model optimisation techniques
- Australian PR or Citizenship required
DESIRABLE BUT NOT ESSENTIAL
- ROS or ROS2 integration experience
- Experience with CUDA/TensorRT or other hardware acceleration tools
- Exposure to reinforcement learning or behaviour cloning
- Familiarity with motion planning or control systems
- Solid Git/version control knowledge and software engineering practices
- Effective written and verbal communication
- Willingness to travel occasionally for field testing or deployment
