Technical Product Owner, Virtual Power Plant (Helsinki)

We are now looking for Technical Product Owner to our Virtual Power Plant (VPP) product. We are looking for an ambitious person who excels in digesting European energy and balancing services market requirements and interpreting those to the engineering teams as a prioritized, actionable backlog. You are a collaborator and communicator who thrives in fast-paced environment and can contribute to discussions from high strategic level to deeply technical nuances to ensure we invest in right topics and implement those in the right way with respect to commercial priorities and technical realities and roadmaps. You do not shy away from working with complex problems, and you excel in creating simplicity and clarity to the direction and messaging. Responsibilities

• Product ownership for the commercial VPP product. You own the roadmap, and mid-to-long term backlog.
• Analysis of requirements including Transmission System Operators’ requirements for balancing market services (technical interfaces, certification requirements, market rules, changes and timelines), electricity energy markets requirements (Nord Pool, EPEX SPOT, technical interfaces, market rules, changes, timelines), partner requirements, and national or EU level requirements.
• Translation of the business and market requirements into a prioritized roadmap and actionable work packages with and for the engineering. Communication of the trade-offs clearly and with language understood by stakeholders.
• Market analysis, competitor analysis and identification of potential partners.
• Project management and leadership of TSO and electricity market integration projects
  
  

Requirements

Must have

• At least 5 years of experience working with electricity market and/or TSO systems and services.
• Strong domain knowledge of electricity system, TSO balancing services, electricity energy markets and their technical systems, interfaces and protocols.
• Great interpersonal and communication skills – both written and oral – and an ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. You listen people with open mind and good heart and convince them with clear evidence backed argumentation.
• Excellent written and spoken English.
• Passion for driving positive change towards a greener and more sustainable future.
• Willingness to travel occasionally (customer/partner meetings, trade shows, local implementation projects).
• Master's degree in energy systems or another relevant field.
  
  

Should have

• Experience with managing technical products/services and requirements, and collaboration with engineering.
• Programming experience and understanding of cloud systems is beneficial.
• Mastering additional major European languages, especially German, is highly beneficial.
  
  

The position is full-time and permanent, and our office is in Pasila, Helsinki. While we are working in hybrid mode, the expectation is to work at least three days a week at the office since nothing beats face-to-face time when developing new products and experiences.
