We’ve partnered up with a logistics technology startup, spun out from a major UAE logistics group. Their SaaS platform unifies last-mile delivery partners across 37+ countries, already powering leading brands and generating steady revenue. They've secured a couple of massive deals and are going to be scaling rapidly.

We’re searching for an experienced, hands-on technical leader ready to take charge of the engineering function. You’ll architect, build, and optimise backend systems, drive DevOps adoption, and help shape our partner's growing team.

Note:

This role is hands-on. Fully fledged CTOs may not be a fit here. You need to be hands-on with development (Python) and architecture. A Technical Engineering Leader in a start-up or someone ready to step into a CTO position is what we're looking for 🚀

You’ll play a critical role in:

• Building and mentoring a high-performing engineering team, setting the tone for a culture of ownership, agility, and technical excellence
• Driving the adoption of modern DevOps, automation, and scalable infrastructure to keep the business ahead in a rapidly digitizing sector
• Aligning technology strategy with business goals, balancing innovation with operational stability and commercial impact
• Navigating the unique challenges of logistics - complex integrations, compliance, and the need for rapid, reliable delivery at scale

What We’re Looking For

• 8+ years of hands-on software engineering and 2+ years leading teams in fast-paced environments
• Advanced expertise in Python/Django, REST APIs, Azure, and PostgreSQL.
• Proven experience implementing DevOps, CI/CD, and scalable cloud systems
• Strong business acumen knowledge - ability to translate commercial priorities into technical strategy and execution
• Demonstrated ability to foster a collaborative, innovative engineering culture from the ground up
• Excellent communication skills for cross-functional collaboration and stakeholder alignment
• Bonus: Experience with Vue.js & industry experience in logistics, supply chain, or e-commerce
