We are seeking a technically proficient and proactive Network Security Analyst to join our Cyber Security Operations team. This is a great opportunity for a candidate with foundational experience in network security and a desire to build their expertise in a large enterprise environment. While this is not a senior-level position, we are looking for someone who has a solid grasp of network security fundamentals and some hands-on experience, ideally within a corporate IT setting.
The role involves supporting network-level tools, technologies, and configurations to strengthen our overall security posture. You’ll work closely with internal teams across network administration, engineering, and feature development to identify, mitigate, and prevent security threats. You’ll also assist with routine operational tasks, investigations, and project-based initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support network security technologies and tools, contributing to policy creation and enforcement.
- Review and help maintain firewall rules to mitigate external threats.
- Analyze network logs and traffic for security investigations and threat detection.
- Monitor and document security issues and infrastructure health.
- Stay informed on emerging threats and assist in applying appropriate countermeasures, particularly on NGIPS devices.
- Produce reports and analysis to share insights with leadership.
- Support project-based initiatives and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.
- Contribute to incident response processes and documentation.
- Provide ad-hoc support to other teams within the Risk Management Group.
- Conduct research on new and evolving threats to enhance awareness and defense strategies.
What You Bring:
- Post-secondary education in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
- 1–3 years of hands-on experience in network or cybersecurity roles.
- Familiarity with security tools and concepts including proxies, firewalls, Wireshark, CDN, SIEM, NGIPS.
- Experience with or knowledge of gateway security tools such as WSS or ProxySG is a strong asset.
- Understanding of network fundamentals (IP addressing, routing, switching, OSI layers).
- Awareness of security frameworks, standards, and regulatory considerations.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to analyze data, create reports, and contribute to incident resolution.
- Cybersecurity certifications (e.g., CISSP, OSCP, Security+) are an asset but not mandatory.
