Cyber Security Consultant (ID#5046)

New Value Solutions, a national IT consulting company, is seeking a Cybersecurity Consultant with a strong technical background in vulnerability and penetration testing. This role will be part of a Cybersecurity team responsible for identifying, testing, and reporting on security risks. The successful candidate will use industry-standard tools and frameworks to conduct assessments and communicate findings to both technical and business stakeholders.

This is remote and flexible project based contract work.

Responsibilities:

• Perform vulnerability assessments and penetration tests across networks, applications, and systems.
• Identify and exploit security weaknesses using tools such as Burp Suite, Metasploit, Nessus, Nmap, and Wireshark.
• Simulate real-world attack scenarios to evaluate the resilience of IT infrastructure.
• Document and communicate findings in detailed technical reports with clear remediation recommendations.
• Present security issues and risk assessments to technical teams and non-technical stakeholders.
• Collaborate with IT, DevOps, and software teams to address and mitigate vulnerabilities.
• Stay current with the latest threats, tools, and techniques in the Cybersecurity landscape.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• Industry certifications such as OSCP, CEH, GPEN, or Security+ (one or more).
• Proven hands-on experience in vulnerability assessment and penetration testing.
• Proficiency with scripting or automation tools (e.g., Python, PowerShell, Bash).
• Excellent report writing and verbal presentation skills.
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and their security features is a plus.
