Job Title: IT Security Consultant

About the Role:

Our client is seeking a highly skilled IT Security Consultant with hands-on experience in Governance, Risk & Compliance (GRC), as well as the deployment and implementation of security solutions. This role is ideal for someone who can critically assess technical proposals and provide expert guidance to ensure that security initiatives align with business goals and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

• Review and assess technical proposals and solution architectures from vendors and internal teams.
• Determine the suitability of proposed security solutions based on technical feasibility, scalability, compliance, and organizational needs.
• Identify and articulate gaps, risks, or weaknesses in proposed solutions, and recommend mitigation or alternate strategies.
• Drive the deployment and implementation of security technologies, ensuring alignment with security policies, frameworks, and operational requirements.
• Support the development and enforcement of security controls, standards, and best practices.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including IT, compliance, operations, and vendors, to ensure end-to-end security posture.
• Assist in security risk assessments, audit support, and regulatory reporting related to GRC activities.
• Maintain awareness of evolving cybersecurity threats and trends to guide solution selection and implementation strategies.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in IT security consulting, with a strong focus on GRC, solution implementation, and risk assessments.
• Proven ability to evaluate technical security proposals and solution designs effectively.
• Hands-on experience in deploying and configuring security tools such as firewalls, EDR, SIEM, DLP, IAM, or cloud-native security platforms.
• Familiarity with regulatory frameworks and standards (e.g., ISO 27001, NIST, MAS TRM, PDPA).
• Excellent communication and documentation skills for technical and non-technical audiences.
• Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CRISC, or CISA are highly desirable.
