Job Description

We are seeking a talented Product Designer - Lending (Mid-Level) to join our team and help us become the undisputed destination for Australians to buy and own property. In this role, you will be an integral part of a cross-functional team, working end-to-end across all phases of design, from discovery through to execution.

We are looking for a highly organised and detail-oriented designer with a passion for experimentation and innovation. You will leverage your research and design expertise to deeply understand user needs, communicate and prototype design solutions at various fidelities, and collaborate closely with Product Managers, Business Analysts, and Engineers to shape solutions that delight users and deliver business value.

This role reports to the Head of Design.

What You'll Do

  • Design and deliver product experiences that meet user needs and align with business goals.
  • Balance experience, speed, quality, and commercial impact in your approach.
  • Leverage AI tools and capabilities - such as generative design, research synthesis, or prototyping accelerators - to improve speed, experimentation, and design quality.
  • Translate research, data, and user feedback into actionable design experiments that improve both user experience and business outcomes.
  • Work closely with product managers, engineers, analysts, and stakeholders. Communicate design ideas clearly and lead co-design workshops to drive innovation.
  • Use visual tools (e.g., journey maps, flows, wireframes) to express user needs and opportunities. Contribute to a strong design culture by actively engaging in critiques and feedback.

Qualifications

  • A background in home lending, banking or financial services is essential, with a portfolio that demonstrates your design process, challenges and outcomes.
  • You're confident in the core UX toolkit—information architecture, flows, journeys, accessibility, prototyping, and UX writing. You also understand how people think and behave, applying cognitive and behavioural psychology to craft intuitive experiences.
  • You know what works across devices, from mobile to desktop, and how to apply UI patterns thoughtfully. You have a sharp eye for layout, typography, colour, and hierarchy—designing with both creativity and precision, including for those tricky edge cases.
  • You're comfortable working with and contributing to design systems. You know your way around Figma and can confidently share your work, explain your decisions, and engage stakeholders in productive, design-led conversations.
  • Works well in fast-paced, agile teams. Have experience using AI tools in your design process - whether for ideation, research synthesis, prototyping, or content generation - and a point of view on how AI can enhance design.
