User Interface / User Experience Developer

Key Responsibilities

As a User Interface / User Experience Developer, you will:

* Develop, maintain, and enhance websites built on the Squiz Matrix CMS to ensure a high-performing, responsive, and accessible digital environment.
* Implement reusable components and templates that align with the Queensland Government Design System (QGDS), ensuring consistency across government platforms.
* Provide day-to-day support for publishers and technical users, maintaining a stable and user-friendly web environment.
* Contribute to innovative digital strategies and continuous improvement initiatives that drive value and better outcomes for all Queenslanders.
* Build strong relationships with clients and stakeholders across Queensland Government departments and agencies.
* Offer creative input on publishing, accessibility, compliance, and analytics, ensuring high-quality service delivery aligned with best practices.
* Support and contribute to crisis communications, government-wide response efforts, and high-impact digital projects as required.



About You

To be successful in this role, you'll bring:

* Strong experience working in a distributed and technically complex web publishing environment.
* Proven skills in web component development within Squiz Matrix, including content templating and responsive design.
* Solid understanding of current and emerging web technologies, accessibility standards, and content management tools.
* Knowledge of government accessibility requirements and digital publishing best practices.
* Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects, deadlines, and priorities within a high-demand setting.
* Excellent interpersonal and consultation skills, with a collaborative approach to stakeholder engagement.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills in digital environments.
* A team-focused mindset with a commitment to service delivery, innovation, and continuous improvement.
