Artificial Intelligence Engineer

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Freelance AI Engineer to support our AI and data-driven product initiatives. You’ll work closely with product teams, data scientists, and software engineers to design, develop, and deploy machine learning models and AI-powered features across our digital ecosystem.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, train, and optimize machine learning models for real-world applications
• Collaborate on the integration of AI models into production-grade systems
• Clean, process, and analyze large datasets to support ML initiatives
• Prototype and test AI use cases aligned with business needs
• Contribute to model monitoring, testing, and performance improvement
• Ensure ethical AI principles and compliance with GDPR/data privacy standards

Required Skills & Experience

• Proven experience as an AI/ML Engineer (freelance or employed), with portfolio or examples
• Proficiency in Python and frameworks like TensorFlow, PyTorch, Scikit-learn
• Experience in data engineering workflows and tools (Pandas, Spark, etc.)
• Strong understanding of model deployment tools (Docker, FastAPI, MLflow, etc.)
• Familiarity with cloud environments (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
• Solid grasp of AI ethics, model fairness, and regulatory requirements
• Based in Brussels or willing to travel for occasional on-site collaboration

Preferred Qualifications

• Master’s or PhD in Computer Science, AI, Machine Learning, or a related field
• Experience with LLMs, generative AI models, or NLP pipelines
• Experience working in regulated sectors (finance, healthcare, or public sector)
