Responsibilities


  • Lead and support the implementation of cybersecurity protocols across various systems.
  • Ensure the company’s IT infrastructure, applications, and systems comply with relevant cybersecurity standards (e.g., ISO 27001, NIST, CENELEC, etc.).
  • Design, develop, and enforce security policies and procedures to protect the company’s network, data, and assets.
  • Conduct regular security assessments, audits, and penetration tests to identify vulnerabilities and implement necessary improvements.
  • Develop and implement incident response strategies, including monitoring, detection, and response to security incidents and threats.
  • Stay up to date with the latest cybersecurity trends, threats, and technologies to ensure the company’s protection against emerging risks.
  • Collaborate with internal teams (IT, software development, etc.) to ensure secure integration of new systems and technologies.
  • Advise the management team on risk management and mitigation strategies regarding cybersecurity.
  • Document security procedures, incidents, and responses, ensuring clarity and compliance with industry standards.
  • Provide training and guidance on cybersecurity best practices to internal teams and employees.


Technical skills, qualifications and professional experience


  • A degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in cybersecurity or IT security roles.
  • Hands-on experience with cybersecurity tools, firewalls, encryption methods, intrusion detection systems, etc.
  • Solid understanding of cybersecurity frameworks, regulations, and standards (e.g., ISO 27001, NIST, CENELEC).
  • Very good knowledge of German (C1) and English (C1).
  • Hands-on experience with railway safety-critical systems testing and validation, specifically ETCS onboard and trackside subsystems.
  • Familiarity with train simulation and testing environments (e.g., Hardware-in-the-Loop, Software-in-the-Loop simulators).
  • Solid understanding of system integration and configuration management processes.


Desired skills/knowledge


  • Certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or similar are highly preferred.
  • Familiarity with industry-specific security requirements (e.g., railway, automotive, or other critical infrastructure) is a plus.
  • Leadership qualities to mentor junior engineers and drive validation activities.
  • Experience with regulatory bodies and certification processes for railway systems.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Proactive and self-motivated, with a high level of attention to detail.
