Location: Dublin, Cork, Mervue

€95,000 base salary

Overview:

We’re partnering with a forward-thinking client to find a Senior Network Engineer with deep expertise in wireless networking and network security. This isn’t a box-ticking role — they’re open to diverse vendor experience and are focused on engineers who bring real-world problem-solving and architectural depth to the table.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, deploy, and maintain enterprise-grade wireless network infrastructure.
• Implement and manage network security solutions and policies.
• Perform advanced Layer 2 and Layer 3 troubleshooting.
• Conduct wireless site surveys and drive Wi-Fi optimisation efforts.
• Secure wireless environments using industry-standard authentication and encryption methods.
• Collaborate cross-functionally on projects and incident resolution.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date network documentation and diagrams.

Key Skills & Experience:

Wireless Networking:

• WLAN design, deployment & performance tuning.
• Hands-on with Cisco, Aruba, Ubiquiti or similar platforms.
• Strong grasp of 802.11 standards (a/b/g/n/ac/ax) and RF fundamentals.
• Proficiency with tools like Ekahau and AirMagnet.

Network Security:

• Experience with firewalls (Palo Alto, Cisco ASA/FTD, Fortinet).
• Knowledge of VPNs (IPSec, SSL) and NAC solutions (Cisco ISE, Aruba ClearPass).
• Familiarity with IDS/IPS, RADIUS, 802.1X, WPA2/WPA3.

General Networking:

• Expertise in routing & switching (BGP, OSPF, VLANs, STP).
• Proficient in tools like Wireshark, SolarWinds, PRTG.
• Solid understanding of DNS, DHCP, and TCP/IP fundamentals.

Preferred Certifications (Nice to Have):

• Cisco: CCNP (Enterprise or Security)
• CWNA / CWNP
• Aruba: ACMP, ACCX
• Fortinet NSE 4–7
• Palo Alto: PCNSE
• CompTIA Network+ / Security+

Salary & Benefits (Permanent Roles):

• €75,000 – €95,000 base salary
• €100,000 – €110,000 for senior/niche profiles with strong wireless + security expertise and certifications (CCNP, PCNSE, etc.)
