Artificial Intelligence Engineer

We're looking for a skilled Freelance AI Engineer to support the design, development, and deployment of intelligent systems across our digital products. Working closely with cross-functional teams, you'll be instrumental in transforming complex data into actionable solutions powered by machine learning and AI technologies.

Responsibilities

• Build, train, and fine-tune machine learning and AI models for various business applications
• Collaborate with software developers and product teams to embed AI models into scalable systems
• Handle data preprocessing, feature engineering, and pipeline development
• Experiment with and prototype new AI-driven solutions aligned with strategic goals
• Monitor model performance and implement ongoing improvements
• Ensure all AI systems comply with GDPR and follow responsible AI best practices

Skills & Experience

• Strong track record as an AI or Machine Learning Engineer in a freelance or contract role
• Proficiency in Python and relevant ML libraries (e.g. TensorFlow, PyTorch, Scikit-learn)
• Experience with model deployment tools and APIs (e.g. Docker, FastAPI, MLflow)
• Solid understanding of data processing tools (Pandas, Spark, SQL, etc.)
• Familiar with cloud services like AWS, GCP, or Azure
• Based in or able to work from Amsterdam, with flexibility for occasional in-person meetings

Nice to Have

• Advanced degree (Master’s or PhD) in Computer Science, AI, Machine Learning, or a related field
• Experience with LLMs, NLP, or generative AI systems
• Previous work in sectors like healthcare, finance, or government with regulatory awareness
