A Senior Android Developer who will actively contribute to the development of the Pago app, enhance its architecture, and help the team deliver high-quality code. We are looking for someone with solid experience in mobile development, a proactive attitude, and the ability to bring innovative technical solutions.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain new features for the Pago app.
• Ensure high code quality through best practices, code reviews, and automated testing.
• Architect and optimize the app for scalability and performance.
• Mentor and support junior team members.
• Investigate and solve complex performance and stability issues.
• Propose and implement the latest relevant technologies and frameworks.
• Work closely with backend, UI/UX, product, and QA teams to deliver the best user experience.

Must have

• 5+ years of experience in Android application development.
• Strong experience with Kotlin and Android SDK.
• Advanced knowledge of Android Architecture Components (ViewModel, LiveData, Navigation, Room, etc.).
• Experience with Jetpack Compose or willingness to learn quickly.
• Proficiency in design patterns and architectures such as MVVM, MVP, or Clean Architecture.
• Advanced knowledge of REST APIs, networking (Retrofit, OkHttp), and local data management (Room, SQLite, Realm).
• Experience with Dependency Injection (Koin, Hilt, Dagger 2).
• Proficiency in SOLID principles and writing Clean Code.
• Experience with publishing apps on Google Play Store and managing app versions.
• Knowledge of CI/CD tools (CircleCI, Bitrise, GitHub Actions, Fastlane, etc.).
• Experience with writing unit and integration tests (JUnit, Espresso, MockK).
• Intermediate level of spoken and written English.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills in a multidisciplinary team.
• Proactive attitude, solution-oriented mindset, and continuous improvement approach.

The first six months

In the first week, we will expect you to:

• Onboard and integrate into Pago while studying and learning our mobile app
• Become acquainted with our team (backend & iOS engineers, QA, designers, product and support team)
• Create your first pull request
• Collaborate and fix the first bugs

In the first month, we expect you to:

• Write your first unit tests
• Create your first release
• Come with feedback for other people’s pull-requests
• Work with colleagues from product, dev, testing, and design
• Come with fresh eyes over our codebase

In the first three months, we expect you to:

• Help build a new experiment or improvement
• Work more closely with another developer on a new feature
• Have complete ownership over a release
• Have complete ownership over an engineering need/refactoring

In the first six months, we expect you to:

• Have gone through at least one major product launch
• Contribute and improve the codebase
