Data and AI Expert - Luxembourg - Hybrid

We are looking for a hybrid (50% onsite & 50% remote) Data and AI Expert for an European Institution in Luxembourg. We are looking for a contractor with at least +5 years of professional experience as a Data & AI Expert.

Candidates need to be based in Luxembourg or near Luxembourg (remote within 2h distance). EU candidates are welcome to apply. Work permit is not provided.

Candidates need to be fluent in English.

Tasks and responsibilities:

• Collaborating on the creation of advanced data models and ontologies to support structured data organization, enabling seamless data integration and enhancing semantic interoperability across the enterprise;
• Engaging proactively with cross-functional teams to deeply understand their data needs, providing expert technical guidance on best practices and cutting-edge technologies;
• Developing a comprehensive data catalog to significantly enhance data discoverability, accessibility, and governance throughout the organization;
• Contribution to crafting and executing a data strategy and governance model, aligned with organizational objectives;
• Designing and developing Artificial Intelligence pipelines for business applications, enabling enhanced data processing and insights;
• Designing and implementing real-time data reporting solutions, ensuring data accuracy, automation, scalable storage solutions, and intuitive data visualization platforms;
• Actively participating in meetings, contributing groundbreaking ideas, and offering insightful feedback to drive project excellence and innovation;

Profile:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science;
• +5 years of professional experience as a Data & AI Expert or similar;
• Proven expertise in data management and data governance tools such as Apache Atlas or DataHub, enhancing data discoverability and governance across organization;
• Extensive design and deployment experience in data pipelines, including hands-on experience in AI, Machine Learning, and Generative AI (GenAI) Solutions;
• Proven expertise in designing and developing advanced data reporting solution using various technologies for real-time data streaming (ex. Apache Kafka, or similar);
• Hands-on proficiency with data ingestion, storage, and visualization techniques using tools like the ELK stack, IBM solutions, Microsoft, or similar platforms;
• Hands-on experience with deployment and fine-tuning Large Language Models (LLMs) and Transformers to align with specific business requirements and data environments, with familiarity in frameworks like Hugging Face Transformers, TensorFlow, and PyTorch for sophisticated model development;
• Proficient in Python programming, utilizing machine learning libraries for NLP and GenAI to develop innovative solutions is considered an advantage;
• Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure, leveraging cloud-based technologies for scalable and efficient deployments is considered an advantage;
• In-depth knowledge of containerization, enhancing application portability and scalability is considered an advantage;
• Strong understanding of data structure, algorithms, and software design patterns, applying best practices to build robust and efficient systems is considered an advantage;
• Proven ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders, fostering teamwork and driving projects to success is considered an advantage;
• Fluent in English;
