Svitla Systems Inc. is looking for a Senior DevOps for a full-time position (40 hours per week) in the USA. Our client is an American multinational company that operates, franchises, and licenses lodging, including hotels, residential, and timeshare properties. It’s also the largest hotel chain in the world, with the largest number of available rooms. The company is based in Bethesda, Maryland, USA, and encompasses a portfolio of nearly 8,300 properties under 30 leading brands spanning 138 countries and territories.

The Opportunity
Svitla Systems Inc. is looking for a Senior DevOps for a full-time position (40 hours per week) in the USA. Our client is an American multinational company that operates, franchises, and licenses lodging, including hotels, residential, and timeshare properties. The company is based in Bethesda, Maryland, USA, and encompasses a portfolio of nearly 8,300 properties under 30 leading brands spanning 138 countries and territories.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related technical field, experience/certification.
- 4+ years of experience in developing and maintaining front-end components and user interfaces using React and TypeScript. Solid understanding of web markup, including HTML5 and CSS3.
- 2+ years of experience in developing and maintaining backend components and integration with SQL and NoSQL databases.
- 3+ years of experience in building deployment automation pipelines using Git and CI/CD tools such as Git Actions, Jenkins, Harness & Helm charts.
- 2+ years of experience in Public Cloud (primarily AWS) infrastructure provisioning via IAC and tools such as Ansible, Python, or Terraform.
- Experience working in DevOps and test-driven culture, and managing code life cycle using Git and related processes & tools.
- Knowledge of RESTful APIs and asynchronous programming.
- Expertise in design and build for performance, scalability & reliability of high-traffic customer-facing digital platforms.
- Understanding of Linux platform management.
- Experience working in a Scrum team or other Agile methodologies.
- Experience researching emerging technologies and trends, as well as synthesizing them into clear technology roadmaps and strategies.
- Advanced knowledge of job-relevant issues, products, systems, and processes.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills for a wide range of audiences, including executives, business stakeholders, and IT teams.
- As an individual contributor or member of a project team, support the successful implementation of network automation projects.
- Provide technical input to the overall architectural and operational discussions around network automation infrastructure and tools.
- Act as a network developer to create innovative solutions and write Python and Ansible code daily.
- Perform as an active contributor in delivering the products in time by participating and providing work through Agile scrum practices.
- Conduct research, design, and implementation of network infrastructure automation solutions, and build standard practices across enterprise operations.
- Make contributions to other network automation solutions that enhance the operations and cost structures of the environment.
- Create and make project documentation available, focusing on clearly communicating the technical features and functions of the solutions.
- Work closely with department leadership and service providers to support alignment of plans with solution delivery.
- Participate in and suggest improvements to standards configuration, change management processes, and practices.
- Develop test plans, implementation plans, and project timelines for various projects and tasks.
- Function as a strategic senior technical expert within the department.
- Develop specific goals and plans to prioritize, organize, and accomplish work.
- Champions leaders’ vision for product and service delivery.
- Make and execute the necessary decisions to move forward toward achieving your goals.
- Provide direction and assistance to other teams regarding projects.
- Determine priorities, schedules, plans, and necessary resources to promote the completion of any projects on schedule.
- Analyze information and evaluate results to select the most effective solution and resolve problems.
- Review vendor proposals and select the most suitable vendor for services, technologies, and hardware.
- Think creatively and practically to develop, execute, and implement new project plans.
- Generate and provide accurate and timely results in the form of reports, presentations, etc.
- Plan, develop, implement, and evaluate the quality of operations.
- Understand and meet the needs of key stakeholders.
- Communicate concepts clearly and persuasively in a way that is easy to understand.
- Demonstrate an understanding of business priorities.
- Support the achievement of performance goals, budget goals, team goals, etc.
- Provide technical expertise and technical leadership within their own and other teams.
- Provide recommendations to improve the effectiveness of processes and programs.
- Apply knowledge and judgment to achieve business goals.
- Foresee, identify, and resolve problems.
