🚀 Back-End Engineer – Austria (Remote)

Location: Austria (Remote-first, must have full-time working rights in Austria, open to people relocating)

We’re hiring a Back-End Engineer for a well-funded, fast-moving startup that’s transforming sustainability in manufacturing with cutting-edge automation and intelligence tools. The company recently secured multi-million pound funding to scale its engineering team and accelerate product development.

This is a chance to join a small, high-impact team where engineers help define the solution—not just build the feature list. You’ll work closely with leadership, product, and customers to tackle complex problems and deliver real-world value.

🔧 What You'll Be Doing

• Building and scaling APIs, automation pipelines, and complex back-end systems
• Working primarily on the back end, but delivering across the stack when needed
• Taking end-to-end ownership of solutions, from design to deployment
• Collaborating directly with product teams and end users
• Helping shape the architecture and scalability of the platform
• Optional: explore AI/ML integration if that's your area of interest

🙌 What We’re Looking For

• Strong back-end development experience (Python preferred)
• Experience with APIs, relational databases (e.g. PostgreSQL), and scalable systems
• Product mindset: comfortable owning problems, not just tickets
• Thrives in fast-paced, startup environments
• Based in Austria with full-time working rights (remote work available from anywhere in-country)

💡 Nice to Haves

• Experience with test automation or system architecture
• Exposure to AI/ML, vector databases, or sustainability tech
• Previous leadership or ownership in engineering projects
