DevOps Release Manager
The main department is responsible for system and software engineering in the newly aligned Multi Domain Solutions (MDS) division.
We are looking for a DevOps Release Manager to support our Software Center. You will act as an interface between development, quality assurance, and system integration to ensure a smooth software release process.
Your Responsibilities:
- Planning, coordination, and execution of software releases in complex system landscapes
- Management and oversight of the release process including documentation, configuration management, and change management
- Collaboration with DevOps teams, software developers, system leads, and QA to ensure stable and secure releases
- Defining and continuously optimizing release processes and pipelines
- Establishing governance structures and compliance-compliant procedures
- Creating release calendars and plans, including risk analysis and rollback strategies
- Monitoring and reporting KPIs on release quality and deployment frequency
- Contributing to toolchain selection and introduction of automation solutions (CI/CD, DevSecOps)
Your Profile:
- Degree in computer science, software engineering, industrial engineering, or similar
- Professional experience in release or DevOps management for complex software products, ideally in a safety-critical environment (defense, aerospace, automotive)
- Experience with tools like GitLab CI/CD, Jira, Confluence, Artifactory, Jenkins, Kubernetes, or Ansible
- Solid knowledge in configuration and change management, ideally according to ISO/IEC standards and military regulations
- Structured and highly organized personality with strong communication skills
- Experience with agile methods (Scrum, SAFe) as well as classic V-Model processes
- Excellent German and English skills, both written and spoken
