Head of App Development (gn) - Location Bucharest

We are seeking an experienced and visionary Head of App Development to lead our international App Development Team. You will oversee strategic and operational activities related to app development while fostering collaboration across international teams and stakeholders.

Responsibilities:

• Provide disciplinary leadership to the App Development Team, supporting their career development and fostering a high-performance culture
• Take ownership of all app development initiatives within the Framework Development department, including planning, execution, and budget accountability
• Manage relationships with external service providers, including coordination, invoice validation, and feature cost assessment
• Ensure the on-time delivery of reliable, secure, and high-quality mobile applications tailored to customer needs
• Lead and coordinate an international development team (Germany, Romania, Ukraine) to design and deliver scalable app solutions aligned with business goals
• Collaborate closely with cross-functional managers, product owners, and technical leads to ensure seamless integration of app solutions
• Ensure the provision of 2nd and 3rd-level support for mobile applications in accordance with IT service management practices
• Establish and enforce best practices for coding standards, documentation, modularization, and development methodologies
• Lead projects end-to-end, including scope definition, resource planning, milestone tracking, and risk management

Your expertise:

• Proven experience in leading large or multiple development teams, with strong expertise in both disciplinary and technical leadership
• In-depth knowledge of mobile app development for native platforms (iOS and Android) and hybrid/WebView-based solutions
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with both technical teams and business stakeholders
• Comfortable working in a multicultural and English-speaking environment
• Solid understanding of modern software development lifecycles, tools, agile practices, and architectural principles
• Excellent capacity and time estimation skills across various project types
• Strong awareness of security best practices in mobile software development
• Nice to have: Experience in payments or fintech domains
• Familiarity with relevant technologies: Native and WebView-based apps, Angular, Kotlin, Swift, Java
