About The Assignment

At AstraZeneca, you will join the External Quality (EQ) team – a vibrant global Quality organization within AZ Operations. EQ is responsible for ensuring the highest standards for products manufactured by external contract manufacturers, supporting the entire product lifecycle and delivering life-changing medicines to patients worldwide.

In this consultant assignment, you will be part of the release team as a Quality Release Manager, accountable for product release, quality system governance, and continuous improvement.

What You’ll Do

As a Quality Release Manager, you will:

• Manage product release processes for external contract manufacturers.
• Oversee quality system elements including change control, SOP management, and quality risk management.
• Maintain quality data and records in relevant quality management support systems.
• Facilitate process and system improvements, supporting audits and inspections as required.
• Manage deviation investigations and quality issues, collaborating cross-functionally with supply chain, technical, regulatory, and project teams.
• Work closely with colleagues and customers across multiple countries, ensuring compliance with cGMPs and global standards.
  
  

What We’re Looking For

✔️ Master’s degree in a scientific or technical field (Pharmacy, Biology, Chemistry, Engineering, or equivalent)

✔️ Minimum 1 year’s experience in pharmaceutical operations or Quality Assurance roles

✔️ Minimum 1 year’s demonstrated experience in release processes, quality event processes, and change control processes

✔️ Strong knowledge of cGMPs, Quality Systems, and the pharmaceutical supply chain environment

✔️ Excellent oral and written communication skills in English (Swedish not required)

✔️ Strong problem-solving, negotiating, and influencing skills

✔️ Ability to work independently and thrive in an agile environment

✔️ Ability to be on site at Gärtuna at least 3 days per week

Desirable Skills

✨ Experience in a PCO/PET organisation or Lean/Six Sigma training

✨ Experience in multi-site or multi-functional roles
