Backend Python Developer

Join a growing software development company expanding their engineering team in Vienna. We are currently looking for a Senior Backend Developer (Python) to support the development of an innovative employee engagement platform that is transforming the way organizations manage and support their teams.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced developer to take on a key role in building scalable, modern backend systems used by clients across Europe.

Your Impact:

Take ownership of core backend features, building scalable and high-performance services with Python, Django, and Fast API.

· Contribute to the entire development lifecycle—from design and implementation to testing and deployment.

· Ensure the delivery of clean, maintainable code and assist with improving the platform’s overall architecture.

· Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate business requirements into solid, production-ready software.

· Share your knowledge and technical expertise within the team, promoting best practices and mentoring junior developers.

We’re Looking For:

· Strong hands-on experience with Python, Django, and FastAPI.

· Proven expertise in building and maintaining RESTful APIs and working with PostgreSQL databases.

· Experience with Celery, RabbitMQ, Redis, and event-driven architectures.

· Proficiency with Docker/Kubernetes and deploying to cloud environments.

· Solid understanding of microservices architecture and developing distributed systems.

· Ability to write efficient, high-quality, and maintainable code.

· Proficiency in English, both written and spoken (German is a plus).

Nice to Have:

· Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.

· Experience with OpenAPI, Swagger UI, or similar tools for API documentation.

· Previous experience working in an Agile environment with distributed teams.

· Experience with Node.js for backend development or microservices architectures.
