Job Description

Introduction

Would you like to help shape the future of Vanderlande? Are you someone who can think outside the box, form a UX vision, and develop creative solutions for tomorrow’s challenges?

As a UX Designer, you play a key role in understanding our customers and their users. You translate their needs into compelling user experiences that form the foundation of our software development. You are curious, collaborative, and passionate about crafting solutions together with UX/UI colleagues, Product Managers, and development teams—always aligning with customer needs and Vanderlande’s strategic goals.

Your department

Our Software Development department is part of the Development Center Warehousing and is responsible for developing Vanderlande’s Warehouse Execution System (WES). We operate as an Agile Release Train (ART), bringing together around 125 skilled professionals across our locations in Veghel (NL), Dortmund (DE), and Pune (IN). With global leadership based in Pune, we work collaboratively across borders to deliver scalable, high-quality software solutions that drive the performance of automated warehousing systems worldwide.

Your position

You ensure our digital products truly meet user and customer needs. You translate insights into wireframes and prototypes, leveraging design standards and best practices.

Collaboration is central to your way of working—you know your designs will only come to life through development, and you’re keen to see them through. You test your prototypes early and often, and you’re experienced in working within an agile development process.

Your Responsibilities

  • Understand user needs and translate them into intuitive product experiences
  • Design UI interactions and prototypes that reflect core product functionality
  • Conduct usability testing and uncover opportunities for design improvement
  • Work closely with product development teams and UX/UI colleagues to ensure delivery of customer value

Your profile

You bring a blend of curiosity, collaboration, and design expertise. You understand both the customer’s business and the real users of our systems—and you love turning those insights into impactful design.

  • A Bachelor’s degree or higher in Design (e.g. Industrial, Interaction, or Multimedia Design)
  • 3+ years of relevant UX design experience
  • Experience with Design Thinking and an agile, flexible mindset
  • Strong communication and analytical skills; you thrive in a team setting
  • Comfortable working in an international environment and open to travel
  • Excellent English communication skills (additional languages are a plus)
  • Mastery of modern design tools—especially Figma
  • Experience with enterprise software is a strong plus
  • Domain knowledge in warehouse automation is a plus

What We Offer

In this challenging and responsible position, you will have the chance to make a significant contribution to industry-leading projects and be connected to our dedicated people and customers. We offer a position in an informal, international and professional working environment with a lot of scope for personal development. By joining our profitable and growing company you will be able to reach your goals and focus on your future.

This position offers a competitive salary range of € 4180 to € 5675 gross per month (excluding 8% holiday allowance). Through exceeding performance expectations, you even have the possibility to grow outside this scale.

On top of your fixed salary you’ll receive the following secondary benefits

  • 40 vacation days (20 statutory days and a flexible budget worth 20 days).
  • Flexible working hours.
  • A hybrid workplace (40% working from home and 60% in the office).
  • A Health & Wellbeing budget worth €300,- per calendar year.
  • Commuting allowance, including full reimbursement of travel by public transport.
  • Working from home allowance.
  • Collective pension scheme and discount on additional health insurance.
  • On-site company health centres with a gym, physiotherapists and occupational therapists.
  • Vanderlande Academy and training facilities to boost your skills.
  • A variety in Vanderlande Network communities and initiatives.
