Role Overview:

We are working with an established recognised name in the market who are looking for a Senior Cloud Engineer with extensive experience in AWS or Azure to support and enhance critical cloud-based services for operational and customer-facing applications. In this role, you’ll lead the development of cloud solutions, fostering reliability, scalability, and resilience across our cloud infrastructure. You’ll play a key role in uplifting the team’s capability while driving best practices in DevOps, security, and resilience engineering.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and support critical workloads on AWS or Azure platforms.
• Lead initiatives to improve the team’s cloud maturity, focusing on reliability and resilience.
• Collaborate with development teams to ensure cloud solutions align with business goals.
• Apply DevOps principles, practices, and tools to streamline workflows and enhance automation.
• Implement IoT solutions using cloud IoT services, with a strong understanding of protocols like MQTT, CoAP, and AMQP.
• Secure and automate cloud infrastructure, optimizing resource use in line with best practices.

Essential Skills & Experience:

• Cloud Expertise: Extensive experience with AWS or Azure (certifications preferred), with a solid grasp of cloud security principles.
• IoT Knowledge: Experience with Cloud IoT services, including IoT Hub, Edge, Data Lake, Functions, and other serverless components.
• Containerization: Proficiency in developing and managing containerized applications (e.g., Kubernetes, Docker).
• Cloud Infrastructure Automation: Advanced skills in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform, CloudFormation, or ARM templates.
• Cloud Services & Tools: Proficient with services like AWS Lambda, API Gateway, Route53, AKS, and Fargate, or their Azure equivalents.
• Collaboration & Communication: Proven ability to work effectively across all levels, with strong skills in influencing and negotiating with diverse stakeholders.
