Job Title: Analyst, Analytics & Insights

Location: Gurgaon

Reports To: Manager, Analytics & Insights

Department: Digital, Data & COO


Job Purpose

The Data Analyst will play a key role in partnering with business stakeholders to understand use case requirements and identify opportunities to deliver business value. This role is responsible for translating business needs into functional specifications, building, and maintaining data assets and dashboards, and delivering actionable insights to stakeholders. The role requires a strong grasp of data analysis, visualisation, and stakeholder engagement within the financial services industry.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather and understand use case requirements.
  • Translate business requirements into comprehensive functional specification documentation.
  • Design, build, test, and maintain interactive dashboards using Power BI and other NAB visualisation tools to provide at-a-glance actionable insights.
  • Identify and document business metrics and work towards standardising data sources and definitions.
  • Partner with the onshore team to contribute to the development of reusable data assets and models.
  • Refresh and maintain reports in accordance with agreed SLAs, including managing data collection or ingestion tasks.
  • Troubleshoot production issues, communicate root cause effectively, and escalate to the onshore team as required.
  • Implement minor changes in reports and dashboards, including testing and validation to ensure data integrity.
  • Maintain up-to-date documentation for all reports, metrics, and data processes.
  • Support and enhance ongoing reporting solutions using target-state data models and dashboards.
  • Adhere to compliance and risk management practices, including proactive identification and escalation of issues.

Essential Capabilities

  • Proficiency in ETL development and debugging using tools such as SQL, Python, SAS (EG & SMC), O365, and Excel.
  • Demonstrated ability to create data visualisations using Power BI to meet business requirements.
  • Strong data storytelling and insight communication skills to influence decision-making.
  • Understanding of financial services data, data modelling, and inter-data relationships.
  • Experience in designing and building data pipelines, including handling diverse data types and missing data.
  • Excellent attention to detail, self-management, and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Strong interpersonal and written/verbal communication skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.

Experience

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in one or more of the following areas within the banking or financial services industry: collections, fraud, lending operations, or payments.
  • Proven experience in data analysis, dashboard development, and presenting insights in a clear and impactful way.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in business, Data Analytics, Computer Science, Statistics, or a related discipline.

  • Timely delivery and refresh of reports/dashboards aligned with SLAs.
  • Accuracy and quality of data presented in dashboards.
  • Active participation in risk management and compliance processes.
  • Effective stakeholder communication and issue escalation.
  • Number of dashboards or models in production and their business impact.

  • Business stakeholders across relevant domains.
  • Internal leadership team and peers in Australia.
  • Analytics teams across the enterprise.
  • FRT and T\&EO Analytics and Insights leadership team.
