Site Reliability Engineer

Location: Sydney, Australia

Experience: 5+ years


Job Description:

  • Good to have Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
  • ITIL Foundation level certification
  • Experience in operations roles supporting highly available & high demand customer facing systems & products
  • Experience working in an IT operations team of a large complex organization such as a Tier 1 Telco or Bank
  • Previous experience as a Site Reliability Engineer or in environment that has adopted SRE principles & practices
  • Experience with cloud-based infrastructure, such as AWS or Azure, and container technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes
  • Knowledge of networking and network security, including DNS, TCP/IP, firewalls, and load balancers
  • Experience with automation and configuration management tools such as Ansible, Terraform, or Chef
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills demonstrated in incident management and troubleshooting production issues
  • Strong programming skills in one or more scripting languages such as Python, Bash or Powershell
  • Demonstrated experience java development and building Ops monitoring tools, CI/CD Pipeline Fundamentals
  • Experience designing, debugging, and running fault tolerant large-scale distributed systems Experience in a BSS (Billing and Customer Care Platforms
  • Understanding of the fulfilment environment, specifically in relation to Service Order Management, Service Inventory, Service Activation) Amdocs & CES product suit experience will be highly regarded
  • Knowledge and understanding of various security protocols SSL handshakes and certificate setup for 2 ways SSL
  • Good understanding of cyber and system integration security Demonstrated experience with software repositories such as GIT & Bitbucket
  • Experience with monitoring tools such as ELK, SPLUNK, Dynatrace, Nagios
  • Demonstrated experience with relational database such as Mysql , Oracle, Postgres
  • Involvement in build and release management processes and CI/CD tools, Openshift CiICD pipeline (Jenkins/Tektons)
