Embedded Systems Developer (f/m/x)

The main topics in the department Base Systems are the development of all base system components used for the safety critical railway application domain. Here the development of the operating system, communication systems, fault tolerance systems, safety services, security services, and HW components are focus. We are developing the widely used HW/SW technology platform called "TAS Platform". This platform is used for all safety critical railway applications (main line and urban rail) in field usage and is the technology basis for future railway applications.

In this role you are part of the Support Team for TAS Platform. This team is the first point of contact of our mostly internal (:98%) customers, answering tickets and providing 1st level support. Your CHALLENGE

• OS Software Development in the railway domain for fault tolerant and safety critical, secure real-time and distributed systems
• You provide customer support on embedded systems or solutions for use with TAS Platform
• Prepare and update presentations and trainings for technical users of TAS Platform
• Evaluate open source embedded systems or solutions for use in TAS Platform
• You participate on technical architecture and design workshops with internal stakeholders
• The development, integration and verification of complex technical functions and solutions is also part of your role
• Work together with the TAS Platform support team in order to support stakeholders and developers
• Work in an agile team with highly standardized processes (quality, safety, security)
  
  
  

Your PROFILE

• A completed education (HTL, FH, University) in Informatics, Electrical Engineering or similar
• Interest and first experience in embedded real-time systems used for safety and security related applications
• Experienced in handling LINUX OS, development environment and Bash Scripting
• Experienced in working with C; C++ is highly beneficial
• Knowledge in Python, GNU make and web programming (e.g. HTML 5 or other) incl. search engines are a big advantage
• Knowledge on FPGA programming and embedded hardware architecture is beneficial
• Good communication skills for technical collaboration with external partners
• Thinking analytically and solving complex problems are your strengths
• Fluency in English, German skills are highly beneficial

• The salary for this position starts at € 50.000 gross p.a. Actual compensation is based on experience and qualification.
