About The Role

As a Compliance Specialist with a focus on Data Protection, you will play a key role in ensuring Wallester’s operations comply with legal and regulatory standards, particularly GDPR and emerging AI regulations. You will be part of the Compliance Department, functioning as a second line of defense within our risk management framework.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct compliance activities related to Data Protection, including monitoring, oversight, guidance, and training.
  • Develop, review, and update internal policies, procedures, and training materials to ensure organization-wide compliance.
  • Investigate potential violations of compliance policies and recommend appropriate corrective actions.
  • Improve internal compliance processes and risk management frameworks continuously.
  • Perform risk assessments on existing clients, partners, and new business projects.
  • Communicate and coordinate with external auditors, regulators, and partners; provide necessary documentation and clarifications.
  • Monitor evolving regulations and advise relevant stakeholders on necessary adaptations.
  • Build strong collaborative relationships across departments and business units.
  • Support other compliance-related initiatives as needed.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Law or an equivalent qualification.
  • Proven experience in Data Protection compliance (experience in financial institutions is advantageous).
  • Strong understanding of GDPR, AI regulation, and relevant compliance frameworks.
  • Excellent analytical and attention-to-detail skills.
  • Outstanding English communication skills; working proficiency in Estonian is required (Russian is a plus).
  • High level of responsibility, initiative, and problem-solving ability.
  • Comfortable operating in fast-paced, dynamic environments.
  • Growth mindset with a strong drive for professional development in the Compliance field.
