We are looking for Node.js Developer who will join us in providing customers with world-class applications to discover and read magazines. The project is a digital subscription service offering unlimited access to thousands of national and international magazines through an app available on iOS, Android, and Web.
You will work on a cloud-based, microservices architecture, with a focus on Next.js for new development and Ruby on Rails for maintaining and extending backend functionality. The team is responsible for everything from user sign-up and SEO content indexing to setting up campaigns, with an emphasis on delivering a seamless, performant, and scalable user experience.
Your Role
- The project will primarily focus on Next.js and Node.js as the dominant technologies. You will work on enhancing the new application with Next.js, while occasionally using Ruby on Rails to ensure seamless interaction with the existing backend.
- Work with MongoDB and Redis to support existing functionalities
- Collaborate with frontend and backend teams to integrate JavaScript, TypeScript, and CSS
- Contribute to setting up and optimizing CI/CD pipelines with GitLab CI
- Write and maintain unit, integration, and end-to-end tests to ensure high-quality code
- Monitor the application using Datadog and ensure it runs smoothly at scale
- Work in an agile environment and closely collaborate with a cross-functional team of backend developers, frontend developers, QA, product managers, and designers
- UoP: 14 000 – 16 500 PLN gross/month
- B2B: 120 – 140 PLN net/hour + VAT
- Ideally a Fullstack Developer (strong in both frontend and backend), or a very strong Frontend Developer (with experience in the server-side aspects of web development).
- 3+ years of hands-on experience with Node.js (backend/API development).
- 2 years of experience with Next.js (App Router, Server/Client Components, Server Actions).
- Solid knowledge of React, TypeScript, and Tailwind CSS.
- Experience with MongoDB and Redis, mainly for managing existing databases.
- Familiarity with GitLab CI for CI/CD pipelines.
- Experience with testing (unit, integration, end-to-end) and frameworks like Playwright.
- Strong understanding of REST API design and backend service integration.
- Ability to work in cross-functional teams and write clean, maintainable code.
- Skilled at implementing pages and components based on Figma designs.
- Knowledge of Datadog or similar monitoring tools is a plus.
- Familiarity with other monitoring tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana).
- Docker and containerization experience.
- Experience with Ruby on Rails.
