The Front End Web Developer I at Lake Trust is responsible for building and maintaining the front end, or client-side, of applications and websites. This individual will work closely with Business Analysts, UX/UI designers, brand, back end/full stack developers, and other Agile stakeholders to translate the requirements into websites, apps, HTML emails, and other interactive experiences. The Front End Web Developer I will collaborate with more senior developers in order to grow their skillset and follow Lake Trust's architecture standards and best practices. At times they may leverage third party tools such as a CMS to deliver value for Lake Trust and our members.
- Work with existing applications and sites and be fully cable of producing quality output that leverages existing patterns and coding standards.
- Provide production support, defect fixing and other related maintenance tasks to the front end code of websites, apps, and UIs.
- Be conscious of Lake Trust’s strategic goals and sprint goals, and work to best further those objectives.
- Actively participate in Scrum ceremonies such as planning, sizing, demo, and retro
- Effectively communicate thoughts, concerns and/or desired outcomes.
- Contribute to the velocity of the team each sprint
- Associate’s Degree/equivalent in Computer Science or a related field is preferred.
- 2+ years work experience as a front-end developer is preferred.
- Experience with source control systems such as Git
- Preferred understanding of Microsoft Office Software.
- Experience in HTML5, CSS and JavaScript is required
- Experience with front end frameworks such as React is required.
- Able to Test, debug, and build code that works across multiple browsers and digital platforms.
- Excellent communication, collaboration and organizational skills.
- Detail-oriented.
- Self-motivated and able to motivate others.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-moving environment.
- Understanding of secure coding standards such as OWASP
- Ability to develop features iteratively as a member of an Agile team
- Learn and follow Lake Trust standards for architecture, source control management, and change control/deployments
- Understanding of back end protocols such as REST and how front end apps interact with the back end
- Desire for constructive feedback via peer reviews of code and performance discussions
- Ability to collaborate and build a sense of togetherness that contributes to a positive work environment.
