Information about the squad:

Data Platforms area is an international environment with almost 70 (growing) highly qualified professionals, working in more than ten product teams and four chapters. Our expertise lies in the development and management of Data and Analytics Platforms. We are participating in development of ING Global Platforms related with analytics, big data, data science and data governance as well as development of Engineering Journey platforms (IT4IT). Our platforms operate on Private, Public and Hybrid environments. Our squads autonomy and end to end responsibility is key for us, so we support Data Ops, SRE and Agile principles.

We are looking for you, if you:

• Have engineering experience or technical background in IT,
• Have curious mindset; you are collaborative and passionate about helping others to grow and improve.
• Have experience in managing people, and developing engineering talents (1+ years).
• Hands-on experience building complex ML and data pipelines (e.g., in Apache Spark).
• Hands-on experience with technologies and frameworks used in ML (e.g., Sklearn, MLFlow, etc.)
• Experience with deployment and provisioning automation tools and concepts, e.g., Docker, Openshift, CI/CD.
• Knowledge of software engineering best practices (versioning, testing, documentation, etc.)
• Excellent communication skills (preferred B2+), capable of working collaboratively in a semi-remote, globally distributed team.

You'll get extra points for:

• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
• Knowledge of MLOps architecture and practices.
• Hands-on experience with Public Cloud services.
• Experience with monitoring and observability (in ML and data domain).
• Good understanding of different data storages (e.g., RDBMS, non-SQL, and time-series databases).

Your responsibilities:

• Chapter Leadership: Build, coach, and inspire a team of ML and MLOps engineers. Promote a culture of continuous learning, experimentation, and innovation within the chapter of engineers with different technological backgrounds.
• Technical Excellence: Set and maintain standards for best practices, tools, and methodologies. Drive initiatives to improve technical quality, scalability, and maintainability.
• Talent Development: Conduct regular one-on-one meetings, performance reviews, and growth plans with chapter members. Identify individual strengths and support members in their career paths.
• Community Building: Foster a strong sense of community within the chapter by organizing knowledge-sharing sessions, workshops, and other opportunities for professional development.
• Stakeholder Engagement: Engage with stakeholders across engineering, product, and business functions to ensure alignment on product goals, priorities, and strategies with those of your chapter members.
• Communication: You can explain complicated subjects clearly to different audience.
