Strategic Sourcing Project Manager

You will assist the Director of the Legal Services Coordination Unit (LSCU) in leading the strategic procurement function for the Whole of Government legal services panel within the Department of Justice.

• Development of a procurement strategy and method including cost analysis, specification development, tendering, evaluation, negotiation and contract
  
  
  

development for a complex sourcing project;

• Working collaboratively with industry, multiple agencies and the category management team in the Department of Housing and Public Works to identify key market cost and performance drivers and developing a tailored sourcing strategy to meet diverse customer requirements which maximises benefits for government;
• Execute sourcing activities following expert project management practice, governance and probity, to deliver initiatives on time, with transparent and defensible outcomes;
• Managing risk through critical assessment, implementation and monitoring of mitigation plans
• Execute highly objective supplier selection and negotiation processes ensuring that all key stakeholders are involved in the determination of requirements,
  
  
  

specifications, selection criteria; review of proposal; negotiations; and final decisions which support the operational needs of key users and stakeholders;

• Maintain strong and productive networks and manage relationships with key stakeholders and Heads of Legal within Queensland Government departments;
• Assist in developing and managing legal category related procurement policies and procedures that represent best practice in accordance with legislation,
  
  
  

Government policies (such as the Queensland Procurement Policy), departmental policies and delegations and accountabilities.

• Provide high-level expert advice in relation to procurement practices to clients and customers at senior management level.
• Assist the Office of General Counsel or Corporate as required.
