The Data Modeler role provides data management consultancy and best practice guidance to project teams and within the architecture community.

The Data modeler is responsible for the driving the delivery of assorted models

Conceptual models effectively a structured Glossary to aid understanding of wholesale business

Enterprise and targeted Logical models to prepare development teams for delivering physical underlying structures The role will act as an ambassador and educator for the benefits of the models and how to leverage the models.

Semantic models to promote data delivery consistency

Modelling is undertaken to make data understandable and accessible to business and IT people

Allocate unique trusted sources

Allocate unique business data ownership

Inform the structure of how data is collected organised tagged and distributed

Inform the data strategy for system development API and data asset creation Collaborating with data architects system architects and CDAO on data flow diagrams and data mappings as appropriate to the context may also be required These artefacts are aligned with group standards IT and business strategy meet business objectives and satisfy all relevant regulatory and operational risk controls.

Responsible for

1-Rapidly understanding business requirements through regular interactions with the Wholesale Chief Data Office CDO business users and other subject matter experts

2-Translation of business requirements into data models solution designs and functional requirements

3-Communication of functional solutions data models to business users development teams plus ongoing support as needed

4-Active promotion of data modelling principles best practice techniques standards and tools

5-Active contribution to ProjectSystem Data Architecture Solution definition and documentation including adherence to Group standards

6-Close collaboration with the Wholesale CDAO in ensuring models support the identification of Trusted Source ownership and the creation of scalable reusable data assets
