DevOps Engineer

We’re Hiring: Senior DevOps Engineer (Freelance – Kubernetes/Rancher Specialist)

We're looking for a Senior DevOps Engineer to join a high-impact infrastructure project involving bare-metal Kubernetes (Rancher), system integration, and observability at scale. If you have hands-on experience with container orchestration, high-availability systems, and strong scripting/automation skills — this is a great opportunity to work alongside an expert team and make a direct contribution to a mission-critical deployment.

Key Responsibilities

• Set up and manage an on-prem Kubernetes Rancher cluster for commercial projects.
• Configure and script bootstrapping of Kubernetes Rancher, including HA components.
• Integrate Fortinet (or F5) load balancers with Rancher for ingress traffic routing.
• Deploy and configure PostgreSQL, Kafka, Keycloak, Redis, and Vault on Kubernetes.
• Design and implement high availability for all deployed services.
• Set up observability stack: Grafana, Prometheus, Jaeger, and logging solutions (EFK or Victoria Logs).
• Collaborate closely with the internal team on-site in Dubai, with physical access to hardware infrastructure.

What You Bring

• 10+ years of experience in DevOps/Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) roles.
• Strong hands-on experience with Kubernetes Rancher, Operators, and custom deployments.
• Deep knowledge of Bash scripting, automation tools like Pulumi and Ansible.
• Familiarity with monitoring and observability tools: Grafana, Prometheus, Jaeger.
• Working experience with Fortinet or F5 Load Balancers (strongly preferred).
• Proficient in at least one high-level language: GoLang or Python.
• Strong understanding of HA, networking, and service orchestration in containerized environments.
• Preference for candidates currently based in Dubai, due to on-site hardware access requirements.

Contract & Location:

• Contract: 2-3 months with possible extensions
• Location: Dubai
