Site Reliability Engineer

Join DiscoverCars.com and help us scale the world’s leading global car‑rental marketplace. We’re expanding our SRE team and looking for a mid-level Site Reliability Engineer who can keep our systems fast, reliable and ready to scale.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field
• 5+ years designing, building, and operating production-grade systems in high-availability environments.
• Basic programming skills (Bash, Python, JavaScript, etc.) and version control tools (Git)
• Proficiency with Linux systems administration
• Proficiency with MSSQL / PostgreSQL / MySQL / Redis
• Proficiency with Web servers and proxies (Nginx, HaProxy, etc.)
• Experience with containerized applications, Docker and Kubernetes
• Experience with automation tools such as Terraform and Ansible
• Experience with CI/CD tooling such as GitLab CI/CD or GitHub Actions
• Experience working with monitoring tools such as Zabbix, Grafana, Prometheus, NewRelic, etc.
• Ability to learn and adapt to new technologies quickly
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills
• Latvian and English knowledge 

Responsibilities:

• Setup and administer infrastructure
• Design, develop, and maintain deployment pipelines for various applications
• Work collaboratively with development teams to ensure smooth integration of code
• Monitor and troubleshoot system performance and issues
• Automate infrastructure and application tasks to improve efficiency and reliability

Nice-to-haves:

• Certifications: CKA/CKAD, AWS DevOps Pro, Google Professional Cloud DevOps, etc.
• Familiarity with compliance regimes (PCI-DSS, ISO 27001, GDPR) and infrastructure cost optimisation.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (such as AWS, Azure, etc.)
