Summary of Responsibility

The Senior Software Engineer will play a pivotal role in shaping the technical direction of our projects and aligning and innovating our products, offerings, and engineering technologies. This position is ideal for a hands-on leader who can enable our engineering team to succeed and responsibly deliver high-quality software solutions. You will be one of the leading engineers in our multi-location team. Your role will involve not only hands-on development but also influencing aligning initiatives, delivering high-impact solutions and building robust solutions with high quality.

Its a global company and to enable strong collaboration, we have established common core working hours. Candidates should be comfortable working from 11:00-19:00 CEST, with core working hours being 16:00-18:00 CEST

Essential Functions

• Technical Mastery: Lead the development of Python-based data ingestion systems, including robust web scraping and preprocessing tools. Integrate structured and unstructured data flows into Google Vertex AI pipelines. Drive architecture decisions for model training, feature engineering, and real-time inference. Experience with GCP and Vertex AI is preferred. Familiarity with WebSockets, containerized services, DevOps pipelines, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), and security-first design is a strong plus.
• Project Delivery: Own end-to-end execution of features—from initial design and prototyping to production deployment. Ensure performance, scalability, and reliability across services and data pipelines.
• Influential Mentorship: Provide mentorship and guidance to engineers across teams to align everyone to deliver on the business goals as per effective architecture and the right technical solution.
• Strategic Problem Solving: Tackle complex technical challenges with innovative approaches. Leverage strong problem solving skills to navigate and resolve issues effectively.
• Collaborative Excellence: Work seamlessly with cross-functional and cross-geographical teams, demonstrating exceptional collaboration skills.

Qualifications and Skills

• 5+ years of hands-on experience in software engineering; experience in AI/ML projects preferred.
• Proficient in Python, REST/WebSocket APIs, and GCP ecosystem (Vertex AI, Cloud Functions, Pub/Sub, Firestore/BigQuery).
• Solid understanding of modern ML workflows, prompt engineering, and LLM integration
• Familiar with containerization (Docker), CI/CD, and infrastructure tools like Terraform or Cloud Deployment Manager.
• Preference will be given to engineers with experience in React.js and/or Node.js
• Demonstrated experience as a strong individual contributor with a track record of delivering results
• An agile work ethic and ability to adjust quickly to changes
• Hands on experience in serverless architectures and an excellent understanding of DevOps and DevSecOps tools and concepts
