IT Engagements is a global staff augmentation firm providing a wide-range of talent on-demand and total workforce solutions. We have an immediate opening for the below position with one of our premium clients.

Java Application Developer

Location: Onsite in Manassas, VA

Duration: 12+ months (Contract)

Interview: In-person

Availability: Please provide your available days/times in EST for this week and next week.

About The Role

Join a dynamic team working on the "Layer 4 Resiliency" project, focusing on developing robust, scalable, and secure Java applications. This role involves full-stack development, with a strong emphasis on backend services, cloud integration, and security.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, test, and maintain Java-based applications.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and deliver solutions.
  • Implement and manage APIs/OpenAPI specifications.
  • Ensure application security through PKI/KMS/HSM/KeyVaults.
  • Optimize application performance and scalability.
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies and contribute to continuous improvement.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Minimum 5 years of professional software development experience.
  • Proficiency in Java, Spring Boot, and Microservices architecture.
  • Experience with Kubernetes and container orchestration.
  • Strong understanding of object-oriented design principles.
  • Experience with cloud platforms like Azure or AWS.
  • Familiarity with XML/JSON and API development.
  • Knowledge of PKI/KMS/HSM/KeyVaults.
  • Experience with MySQL and Redis databases.
  • Proficiency in Python and Linux development.
  • Strong analytical and debugging skills.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
