Cognizant is seeking a Network Engineer for a full-time opportunity in Beaverton, OR. Due to the nature of the work, applicants must be eligible to meet ITAR compliance requirements. We are unable to offer visa sponsorships.

Day To Day Responsibilities

Monitoring and Maintenance

  • Network Monitoring: Monitor network performance, including bandwidth usage, latency, and uptime.
  • Routine Maintenance: Perform regular maintenance tasks such as updating IOS upgrades, and checking hardware health (Software and hardware refresh of network devices)

Troubleshooting

  • Issue Resolution: Diagnose and resolve network issues, including connectivity problems, hardware failures, and configuration errors.
  • User Support: Provide technical support to users experiencing network-related issues.

Configuration and Setup

  • Device Configuration: Set up and configure network devices like routers, switches, firewalls, and access points.
  • Network Expansion: Assist in expanding the network infrastructure by adding new devices and ensuring proper integration.

Documentation and Reporting

  • Maintaining Documentation: Keep detailed records of network configurations, changes, and incidents.
  • Reporting: Generate reports on network performance, issues resolved, and recommendations for improvements.

Collaboration

  • Team Coordination: Work closely with other IT staff, including onsite EUC and offshore support teams, to ensure seamless network operations.

These tasks help maintain a stable and secure network environment, ensuring that all users can work efficiently without interruptions.

Qualifications

Ø Routing protocols – BGP, configuring BGP Communities and managing, OSPF, EIGRP

Ø Good Understanding on LAN and WAN connectivity designs

Ø Ability to configure Cisco Router Hardware: ASR and ISR

Ø Switching - Cisco Nexus & Catalyst Switches like N5k, N7k, C9200, C9300, C9500

Ø Configuring Cisco DMVPN & Zscaler Cloud for Internet traffic

Ø Strong experience on Cisco Wireless Controllers / Access Points

Ø Strong analysis on Cisco ISE and integrating with WLC and EAP TLS Authentication

Ø Nice to have: F5 load balancer, Infoblox, Splunk, Thousand Eye, Meraki

Ø Monitoring Tool: SolarWinds

Ø Ticketing Tool: Service-Now

Ø Ability to provide adequate onsite support to resolve network issues like device support/configuration and end user testing.
